Description

Category

Custom captions are organized into five main categories. The Global category allows for renaming of generic phrases that are used throughout the program (e.g. Handling). The Module category allows for renaming of entire modules (e.g. Repair Orders). The Field category allows for renaming of individual fields on entry screens, in browse columns, and on forms and reports (e.g. Reference 1). The Form Title category allows for renaming of form titles (e.g. Repair Estimate). And the Form Subheading category allows for renaming of form subheadings (e.g. Accessories).

This field is not editable, but is displayed according to the caption selected from the browse.

Reference

The original caption that is to be replaced with a custom caption. This field is not editable, but is displayed according to the caption selected from the browse.

English Caption

Enter the equivalent English custom caption. Longer custom captions may need to be abbreviated in order to accommodate the limited space available to display the caption, which often corresponds to the approximate length of the original caption.

If a custom caption must be in a language other than English, French, or Spanish then enter the caption in the English field either as English/other language, or as only the other language (see Language of Data Entry).

French Caption

Enter the equivalent French custom caption.

Spanish Caption

Enter the equivalent Spanish custom caption.
